Currently, South Africa is ranked as the world’s thirteenth-leading carbon emitter; however, the nation’s government is focused on reducing its carbon emissions as the country joins dozens of other nations in the effort to further improve the earth’s environment.
According to Mining Weekly magazine, the country’s National Treasury has proposed a direct tax on carbon emissions; consequently, many South African organizations have now begun to restructure their supply chain processes to avoid any negative consequences of the carbon emissions tax.
