Operators will have a choice between three vehicle options—compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), or hybrid. Currently, CNG and LNG vehicles are only offered in a few markets throughout the U.S., while hybrid vehicles are more readily available.
With Flex-to-Green, Ryder is focused on further expanding the availability of each of these vehicles so that fleet operators from all regions of the U.S. will eventually be able to purchase and use such alternative fuel vehicles.
“Ryder is committed to making it as easy as possible for customers to implement sustainable transportation solutions,” says Robert Sanchez, president of global fleet management solutions at Ryder. “The new ‘Flex-to-Green’ offering makes sustainable efficiency simple by providing a flexible product that enables customers to incorporate alternative fuel vehicles into their fleet when they are ready.”
The offering, which has been available since early fall, will likely become more readily accessible throughout the entire U.S. during the coming months as Ryder continues to develop its lease option on a long-term basis.
