The three projects—a green vehicle fleet of pickup and delivery vehicles, a Paperless Clearance feature, which will be available to all DHL customers, and a GOGREEN Carbon Neutral Service—have been fully implemented and are currently available for public use.
DHL’s green fleet includes 30 battery-powered electric vans and 50 hybrid trucks. DHL’s deployment of all 80 vehicles was complete Sept. 30th.
The Paperless Clearance feature, available since Oct. 31st, allows customers to electronically transmit their documents to Customs, which completely eliminates their needs to print paper.
Additionally, through DHL’s GOGREEN Carbon Neutral Service, customers can offset their CO2 emissions for a service charge, which is used by DHL to endow money towards Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) environmental protection projects.
