DHL Express U.S. Continues to Build its International Specialist Brand with Rugby Sponsorship

DHL Express, an international express shipping provider, is once again an official sponsor of the USA Sevens Rugby Tournament and exclusive sponsor of the US Rugby team jersey. The largest rugby event in North America, the 2012 USA Sevens Rugby Tournament will be broadcast live throughout the world as fans of 16 international rugby teams converge in Las Vegas at Sam Boyd Stadium from February 10-12.

"Our relationship with USA Sevens Rugby is a great example of how we continue to invest in sponsorships that reinforce our position in the marketplace as the international specialists." said Christine Nashick, Vice President of Marketing for DHL Express U.S. “USA Sevens further validates our commitment to expertise, speed and a dedication to excellence - the very same qualities we bring to each and every international shipment delivered on behalf of our customers."

Elements of the sponsorship include exclusive national team jersey sponsorship rights; VIP hospitality platforms for DHL and its customers; on-field signage and giveaways during the tournament as well as print and broadcast advertising.

“We’re thrilled to extend our partnership with DHL again this year,” said Dan Lyle, Tournament Director of USA Sevens. “DHL’s extensive activation greatly enhances the USA Sevens fan experience, and demonstrates their continued commitment to the sport of rugby worldwide.”

In 2011, DHL Express globally was the official logistics partner of the Rugby World Cup 2011 held in Auckland, New Zealand.

Supply chain visibility is an appealing yet elusive capability for most companies. While most recognize the significant benefits that would accrue from comprehensive visibility, few have made it a reality across their global operations. Part of the problem companies seem to have in embracing and implementing visibility is the lack of a comprehensive definition or firm understanding of the transformational potential. In this podcast, World Trade and GT Nexus will discuss the definitions and opportunities as well as how new cloud technology platforms are driving significant value to major companies today.

Speaker: Greg Johnson, Chief Marketing Officer & Co-Founder of GT Nexus
