Dachser Joins Lufthansa Cargo as Global Partner

Dachser Transport of America Inc, the U.S. division of the global logistics service provider, recently signed an agreement to become the newest member of Lufthansa Cargo's Global Partnership Program. The Program's mission is to increase cooperation to work closely together in planning capacity, reducing transaction costs and promoting key industry issues.

Dachser's customers stand to benefit from even better access to capacities.

"Lufthansa Cargo's closely meshed route network and frequent, excellent service makes the company a strong partner for our intercontinental business," explains Thomas Reuter, managing director Dachser Air & Sea Logistics. With a route network that covers some 300 destinations in over 100 countries, Lufthansa ranks among the world's leading air freight carriers. Dachser has been a dependable partner for worldwide air freight shipments since 1951.

"Dachser is pursuing an impressive and successful global expansion model and we are delighted to be part of it. We now intend to continue on that path in even closer partnership," says Dr. Andreas Otto, Lufthansa Cargo Board Member Product and Sales. "With Dachser in the membership base, we have additionally strengthened our Global Partnership Program," Dr. Otto continues.

To achieve plans for growth and expansion of its U.S. network, Dachser announces Mickey Diaz has been promoted to Director Airfreight USA.

"This new position will better serve our customers, as Mickey is great asset for our shippers to meet the demands of logistics challenges faced in the U.S. market," says Frank Guenzerodt, President and CEO of Dachser USA. Diaz will continue her responsibilities with Latin America Development. She has been in the transportation industry for more than 15 years, and joined Dachser in September of 2011.

Part of the problem companies seem to have in embracing and implementing visibility is the lack of a comprehensive definition or firm understanding of the transformational potential. In this podcast, World Trade and GT Nexus will discuss the definitions and opportunities as well as how new cloud technology platforms are driving significant value to major companies today.

Speaker: Greg Johnson, Chief Marketing Officer & Co-Founder of GT Nexus
