The new international cargo fuel surcharge on Japan Airlines will be JPY 132 per kg on long-haul international routes, JPY 105 per kg on medium-haul international routes, and JPY 82 on short-haul routes.
Since April 2009, Japanese airline JAL has used the one-month average fuel price of Singapore kerosene of the month before last to adjust its cargo fuel surcharge levels on a monthly basis. The benchmark fuel price used for calculation of the fuel surcharge level is between $130 and $134.99 per barrel.
