Logistics services provider SDV has announced construction of its new $55 million logistics center in Singapore will be completed by August 1, 2012.
The project is the company's first 'green' logistics center. It will be completed in compliance with the highest environmental standards, said SDV.
In March 2012, the warehouse became the first Green Mark Platinum certified warehouse in Singapore. It is also one of the largest centers in Asia to receive the LEED Gold certification.
Environmental benefits included in the design range from energy and water efficiency to sustainable site and waste reduction and the use of recharge stations for electric vehicles.
"The purpose of this 42,000 square-meter investment was twofold: First to consolidate and support our customers' growth in the years to come, and second to build and operate this facility in a way that would meet both our and the clients' values in terms of sustainable development" said Yves Laforgue, Managing Director of SDV in Singapore.
