Radiant Logistics, Inc., a domestic and international logistics services company, today announced the further expansion of its Airgroup network with a new location in Oakland, California. The Oakland facility will leverage Radiant's robust technology platform and global network to provide a comprehensive level of domestic and international freight forwarding and logistics services.

With over thirty years of combined experience Jill Carter and Donna Johnson will spearhead the new Airgroup-OAK office servicing a diversified base of domestic and international customers. "We are very excited to be joining Radiant and the Airgroup network," said Jill Carter, Senior Director of Business Development at Airgroup-Oakland. "As a group, the Radiant/Airgroup team has a real appreciation for the needs for the local owner/entrepreneur and a clear and achievable plan for building a world class logistics organization. The platform, in terms of people, process, technology and network is unique in the marketplace and represents a compelling opportunity for our organization."

As a member of the Radiant Logistics family of companies, the Airgroup-Oakland station joins the ever-expanding Radiant network of over 100 company-owned and exclusive agent offices across North America servicing a diversified account base including manufacturers, distributors and retailers using a network of independent carriers and international agents positioned strategically around the world. Additionally, the Airgroup-Oakland station provides specialized services and expertise to support the hotel and hospitality industries, as well as import logistics expertise nationwide.

Ms. Carter continued: "Our customers have always been our top priority, whether they were local, within the United States or abroad. We were looking for a strategic partner with the vision and resources to help us meet our own goals for growth. With Radiant, we believe we have found a unique opportunity to leverage our own strengths along with the capabilities of the Radiant network to bring additional value to our customers while enjoying the benefits of participating in an organization that, through its status as a public company, gives us the ability to become shareholders and share in the value that we help create. This is an exciting new dynamic for us and we are looking forward to flying the Radiant/Airgroup flag here in Oakland."

"We are very proud to have the entire Oakland team join the Radiant/Airgroup organization," remarked Radiant's Founder and CEO, Bohn Crain. "We are working very hard to drive continuous improvement across the Company and we remain keenly focused on quality operations like our new Airgroup-Oakland operation which will continue to strengthen our overall network and help drive our continued organic growth."

Assurance of Supply: A Top Concern for Manufacturers

Every manufacturer has an assurance of supply problem to some extent due to the complexity of global sourcing. For years, manufacturers were blessed with high margins but margins have grown paper thin. You can’t fill up your distribution centers with excess inventory – not only is there a cost factor but the pace of business and consumer buying trends causes goods to quickly turn obsolete. Assurance of supply provides the speed and agility that is essential to being able to compete in today’s market.
