The combination of Universal Truckload Services of Warren, Mich. and LINC Logistics Company on a $335 million stock-for-stock transaction (including the assumption of debt) will create one of the largest full-service, asset-light logistics platforms in North America, according to Universal.
Universal Truckload Services is primarily an asset-light provider of transportation services to shippers throughout the United States and in the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec. Its trucking services include both flatbed and dry van operations, and Universal provides rail-truck and steamship-truck intermodal support services. Universal also offers truck brokerage services.
LINC provides value-added logistics services to the automotive and manufacturing industries. It also provides dedicated truckload, expedited and freight forwarding services to customers throughout North America.
LINC manages or provides its services at 43 locations throughout the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
