SeeChange Lite, the new mobile application for Apple, Android and Blackberry devices introduced by APL Logistics, provides customers secure and convenient shipment tracking capability, the company said. SeeChange Lite is a free, downloadable application available from the Apple Store, Google Play and App World.
“SeeChange Lite is a step towards enhancing our suite of value-added services to meet complex, international logistics challenges,” said May Chew, vice president of technology for APL Logistics. “This new technology tool addresses the increasingly mobile needs of our customers who require instant and reliable access to shipment information to manage their supply chains.”
In addition to using SeeChange Lite to monitor shipments and any activity on their purchase orders, customers can access route information as well as retrieve shipment, equipment and booking summaries.
SeeChange Lite offers an additional feature that enhances shipment visibility for customers – the ability to update shipment status and location from a mobile device.
The mobile application is currently optimized for iOS5, with a version for iOS6 available soon.
SeeChange is APL Logistics’ fully hosted, web-based portal that offers greater visibility, predictability and collaboration for a panoramic view into international supply chains – from purchase orders to shipment delivery. It is designed to provide immediate information to improve supply chain decisions and agility, Customers can use SeeChange to manage proactively, improve responsiveness and enhance efficiency across their entire supply chain. Its Exception Management function continually monitors supply chain data and issues automatic alerts on exceptions that impact the flow of goods.
SeeChange provides information on a shipment, booking, container, purchase order and product; details and status updates from logistics partners; reports on current and historical activities and notifications about transit delays. SeeChange offers direct access to supply chain data and reports for better trip planning and reduced freight expediting costs. It helps customers work effectively with multiple vendors, carriers and across various modes of transport.
