The Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) has joined the Coalition for Responsible Transportation (CRT). The port authority will collaborate with leading cargo owners, trucking companies, ocean carriers and CRT’s partner organizations — including Environmental Defense Fund and the Retail Industry Leaders Association — to identify and implement best practices to reduce port-related diesel emissions.
“We have long been dedicated to doing our part as good stewards of the environment, whether we’re talking about air quality or the health of our river,” said Roy Schleicher, Interim CEO of JAXPORT.
The port has made significant capital investments in air quality improvements across port operations and development of innovative programs to reduce diesel emissions, according to the port.
