Full truckload carrier Con-way Truckload has been named Carrier of the Year by Sonoco. This is the third consecutive year the carrier was named to the top honor and the fourth time Con-way Truckload has earned a carrier award from Sonoco since it began working with the company in 2008.
Hartsville, S.C.-based Sonoco is a multi-billion-dollar global manufacturer of industrial and consumer products and provider of packaging services to customers in 85 nations.
“Con-way Truckload has continued to excel in Sonoco’s three award categories,” said Donna W. Clinton, strategic sourcing manager, Logistics, Sonoco. “The key to Con-way’s success with Sonoco is the commitment and support that the entire company provides to our account — from the president to our customer service representative.”
Another subsidiary of Con-way Inc., less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier Con-way Freight, has been honored with an LTL Carrier of the Year award by the Ryder Supply Chain Services account team supporting a major high-tech manufacturing customer.
Ryder operates a multi-carrier transportation network, which handles thousands of shipments daily throughout North America for the particular high-tech customer. Con-way Freight is one of five primary carriers engaged by Ryder to provide LTL freight services for the manufacturer’s supply chain.
According to the company, Ryder and its customer hold their core carriers to some of the most stringent transportation quality and service performance standards in the industry.
