ABF Freight Earns National LTL Carrier of the Year Award

This is the second consecutive year ABF Freight earned a national LTL Carrier of the Year Award; Four years total, including 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014.

ABF Freight has earned the National LTL Carrier of the Year Award from the National Shippers Strategic Transportation Council.

ABF Freight was recognized during the recent NASSTRAC Conference and Expo in Orlando, Fla. ABF Freight has now earned the Carrier of the Year Award four times, gaining recognition in 2014, 2013, 2011 and 2010.

“In receiving this award we acknowledge the ABF Freight professionals who have not only persevered through adverse market conditions but also have continued to uphold the highest standards of professional integrity and operational excellence,” said ABF Freight President and CEO Roy Slagle. “We also want to recognize NASSTRAC and all the shippers who nominated ABF Freight to receive this prestigious award. They are true professionals that positively shape the industry’s landscape by serving as a powerful voice speaking on behalf of both carriers and shippers, and it is their participation that makes this award meaningful.”

Through its annual Carrier of the Year Awards Program, NASSTRAC recognizes carriers that have demonstrated excellence in transportation. This program also helps shippers to identify the best of the best in carrier performance and value. Regular members of NASSTRAC who are qualified buyers of transportation services grade all carriers that are members on a quantitative scale in five key areas: 1) customer service; 2) operational excellence; 3) pricing; 4) business relationship; and 5) leadership and technology. The NASSTRAC Carrier of the Year program is co-sponsored by Logistics Management, a leading trade magazine for buyers of logistics services.

Assurance of Supply: A Top Concern for Manufacturers

Every manufacturer has an assurance of supply problem to some extent due to the complexity of global sourcing. For years, manufacturers were blessed with high margins but margins have grown paper thin. You can’t fill up your distribution centers with excess inventory – not only is there a cost factor but the pace of business and consumer buying trends causes goods to quickly turn obsolete. Assurance of supply provides the speed and agility that is essential to being able to compete in today’s market.
