CaroTrans, a global NVOCC (Non vessel operating common carrier) and ocean freight consolidator, has announced the expansion of their global LCL (less-than-containerload) services with a new Los Angeles - Ho Chi Minh export and import service. January 13, 2012 is the first sailing date for this fast, direct service that transits in 18 days, port to port.
Alliance partner, Seahorse Shipping, an NVO in Vietnam, will provide effective and reliable management of cargo shipments coming into the region. In the U.S., export customers are supported by an extensive network of wholly owned and operated local CaroTrans offices and cargo freight receiving stations.
CaroTrans has grown its market presence in Asia to include direct services to and from all major Asia ports. The new Ho Chi Minh service augments CaroTrans’ LCL import service from Vietnam to the LA gateway service started in July 2011.
“Vietnam is a key trade market for the global shipping industry. We are pleased to offer our freight forwarder customers this new fast, direct Los Angeles to Ho Chi Minh service for their export customers shipping raw materials, chemicals, machinery, and equipment to name just a few export products,” said Greg Howard, CaroTrans Global CEO.
Grant Morrison, CaroTrans, Los Angeles Branch Manager, “This new Vietnam service out of the port of Los Angeles is in direct response to customer demand. By delivering a direct service, we effectively meet the needs of our freight forwarder customers that desire fast transits and reliable, secure cargo movements.”
