Uplift in German outlook to set the course

Europe's biggest economy is showing signs of revitalization, according to a recent survey of consumer and business confidence, which bodes well for the 12-member euro zone.

The primary reason for the positive outlook is that Germans are starting to feel better about job prospects, notes a European economist with BDNP Paribas in London.

In addition, the continued strength of the export sector is helping to boost profits for German companies.

Germany accounts for approximately 30 percent of the economic activity in the euro zone
