EMC Tapped for Eastman IT Supplier Excellence Award

EMC Corporation, the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, announced it was honored along with four of Eastman Chemical Company's 600 technology vendors to receive the coveted Eastman IT Supplier Excellence award.  With the ultimate goal of a centrally-managed, shared services model, Eastman has been working with EMC to extend the simplicity and efficiency of its information infrastructure, embrace pervasive virtualization, and continue on its journey to private cloud computing.

"Supplier performance measurement is essential for driving operational excellence and performance at Eastman," said Dan Chase, Global IT Operations and Services manager.  "Each year Eastman honors the most deserving of its more than 600 technology vendors with a Supplier Excellence Award.  These strategic business partners continually provide superior service, work with us to deliver value-adding projects, and provide us with creative options for making smart choices that balance value, cost and risk.  We congratulate EMC on being one of only five information technology companies to be awarded an Eastman Supplier Excellence Award in 2010.  EMC is truly one of our world-class strategic business partners."

Headquartered in Kingsport, Tenn., Eastman Chemical Company and its approximately 10,000 employees develop chemicals, fibers and plastics used as key ingredients in products that people use every day.  Eastman established its Supplier Excellence Award Program (ESEP) in 1982 to promote supply chain and operational excellence by recognizing outstanding performance by major suppliers that continue to contribute significant value and exceed expectations with regard to service level, security, value and innovation.
