You guessed it-a new name: World Trade100 – The Benchmark for Global Supply Chain Business. For over 22 years, World Trade has been the ‘Authority for Supply Chain Decision Makers’ and World Trade 100 will carry on that legacy.
Why World Trade 100? ‘World Trade’ because we will continue to cover the global and domestic supply chain from the nuts and bolts to the big ideas, and ‘100’ because editorially we will focus on supply chain business solutions for companies with 100+ employees.
Two thousand nine marks a year dominated by significant change in our economy and in our industry. This year has been a challenging year to say the least, and I am quite certain there is not a single industry that has not been affected by the current economic conditions. A year ago, when I wrote this column, we thought the worst for the transportation sector was a barrel of oil priced at over $100. How quickly that changed.
The past year has been a year of firsts for the world, the U.S., our companies, and each of us personally. What will remain constant is our commitment to focusing on providing business solutions for your global supply chain. Whether it is securing trade finance, determining the best regions for outsourcing, optimizing your warehouse, or investing in new technology, WT 100 will cover it.
There is not a better time to launch WT 100 than with our annual Buyer’s Guide. Over the next couple of months you will be entering budget season and making decisions on your logistics and supply chain providers. The Buyer’s Guide provides a single source of information that you need to help make those decisions.
Our name may have changed but the game’s the same. We welcome your suggestions and ideas. Visit us at our blog at www.worldtradewt100.com and tell us what you want to see and let us know how we can better deliver what you need. We look forward to continuing our coverage of the global supply chain.
