A select group of shippers in Malaysia have been chosen to participate in the country's new Customs Golden Client program, which is designed to expedite cargo flows with a streamlined documentation process. The aim is to improve the competitiveness of Malaysian manufacturers and traders, reduce costs, and simplify clearance procedures and harmonize them with international best practices, Deputy Finance Minister Ng Yen Yen said. Those eligible to join are manufacturing firms with annual sales of more than 25 million ringgit ($6.6 million), and traders with import/export sales exceeding 50 million ringgit. International procurement centers and regional distribution centers with annual sales turnover exceeding 50 million are also eligible, she said.
