During his presentation to lawmakers recently, Portman said that in 2006 the U.S. expects to complete free trade agreement talks with the Panama, Thailand, Colombia, and the United Arab Emirates.
In addition, the U.S. is continuing FTA negotiations with the Southern African Customs Union (SACU), Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA), and Ecuador.
The U.S. has already completed free trade agreement negotiations with Oman and Peru and has recently launched similar talks with Korea.
