The Supply-Chain Council, a Pittsburgh, Pa.-based trade association, has announced the establishment of a new award aimed at recognizing European organizations with demonstrably high standards in supply chain organization and management. The group says the Supply Chain Operational Excellence Award will go to a European organization that "operates significant components of a supply chain and has demonstrated excellence in the design, operation or improvement of that supply chain."
"This European Award is an excellent opportunity for the Supply-Chain Council to recognize practitioners for their accomplishments in the area of supply chain improvement," says Supply-Chain Council executive director Bill Hokanson.
The SCC-Europe chapter will appoint a selection committee to judge submissions for the award. Submission deadline for entries is Sept. 15.
